My reply to that is that the Council of Nicaea (325) was an extraordinarily successful attempt by the Christian religion of the day to take control of Reality, or ‘God’ as they called it in their day.
They did this with no demonstrable, or even allowable evidence of any experience of Reality.
Many would consider the attempt, however sincere, to be what we’d call a blasphemy today – but a failure as it’s turned out anyway. You can’t take over Reality.
Reality is caught, not taught.
The true purpose of Reality as experienced by mystics is that Reality establishes itself without human help. It continues in its purpose with or without human interference. Its purpose is non negotiable.
The result is that religious people end up worshipping their religions, not Reality – rather like eating the menu rather than the food, said one guru.
Ironically, Reality does not want or need worship anyway.
As the truth of the existence of this non human, non biological Reality seems to be asserting itself nowadays the religions and their spinoffs are generally seen to be dwindling.
The bible is a valuable remnant of the remaining spiritual content of Reality after the Council of Nicaea finished its editing by the human spirit. Only mystics can recognise the bible’s real spiritual remnants.
