THE SPIRITUAL INCONSEQUENCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA?

A correspondent got me embroiled in discussing the value of social media websites, which lead me to the following conclusions:

Social media is awash with factless opinions that have not even a glimmer of truth.

It seems to be a collection of merely popular, mindless baubles dangled for gawking entertainment far, far from the personal experience of cosmic reality, (MER).

When this blog started it went to social media. However, upon further experience, plus the advice of a wisdom school master, all distribution of the blog to this media was cancelled as a waste of seed.

The blog immediately lost the 80 followers it had acquired in its first week.

Remember the Pareto principle? “The Pareto principle states that for many outcomes, roughly 80% of consequences come from 20% of causes.Wikipedia

That is, 20 percent effort produces 80 percent results. So, is only 20 percent of the population at any one time experiencing or has experienced MER enough to get anything out of niche publications like this blog?

Does that leave out the rest of the population, the 80 percenters, people who haven’t experienced MER, who know nothing about it or even the difference between spirituality and religion, let alone mysticism?

No.  While the 80 percenters might not be able to take anything of spiritual value from publications like mysticexperiences.net at the moment, there are no failures. Reality’s remorseless evolution takes us all.

In the meantime, as social media seems to be a glaring, disquieting gauge of the current rootless state of the Pareto principle’s 80 percenters who follow it, the decision to remove the blog from social media’s infertile ground seems very sound.

All Is Well.
