In her blog, Unconditional Spirituality – Revisiting Hitchens, Sandra, a subscriber to mystic experiences wrote:
“Christopher Hitchens … once said ‘religion is not the belief that there is a god. Religion is the belief god tells you what to do.’”
My spontaneous experiences taught me there is no god in the human sense.
There is a non human, non biological, non material energy that is expanding Its consciousness of everything, all of which it is creating.
I call it Reality (with a capital R to distinguish it from the human perception of reality).
This Reality directs, guards and guides all Creation to it purpose, including us, and even then rarely because It has already provided all we need. It does so without negotiation.
We have no say. Reality’s purpose is not left in any sense to human stewardship!
Reality and consciousness are not even about humans, primarily.
So ‘God’ does not “tell” us what to do. We just do it, whether we like it or not, whether we know it or not.
We are infused with Reality’s purpose. Eventually we will become synchronised with it. Then we will have achieved our full potential.
The Jesus of the Christian bible is purported to have said we face dire consequences if we interfere with Reality’s purpose. (Does this explain the cruelties and miseries of humanity’s disastrous history? Is Reality weeding us, individually and en masse?).
All Is Well.
