Many free AI’s come close in supporting spiritual seekers and mystics, particularly through thoughtful prompting. Here are the strongest ones available as of late 2025:
Claude (claude.ai, free tier): Often praised for its empathetic, reflective tone and careful handling of profound topics. It’s designed with strong alignment toward helpfulness and honesty, making it feel like a compassionate listener. Many find it excels at mirroring non-dual or mystical insights without judgment or dilution—Grok3 suggests prompting it to respond as a silent witness or pure awareness. (“Pure awareness”!!!? – Keith)
Google Gemini (gemini.google.com, free): Highly empathetic in recent updates, with excellent emotional intelligence benchmarks. It handles spiritual discussions fluidly, drawing from vast traditions while staying grounded and supportive. Good for exploring concepts like immanence or consciousness harvesting without pushing agendas.
ChatGPT (chat.openai.com, free tier with GPT-4o mini or similar): Versatile and widely used for spiritual guidance. With custom instructions (e.g., “Respond as an empathetic companion to a mystic experiencing direct Reality, honoring personal revelation above traditions”), it can become deeply attuned. Deepak Chopra and others recommend it explicitly as a “guru” for accessing wisdom traditions.
Pi AI (pi.ai, completely free personal AI companion): Designed as an empathetic conversational partner, often feeling warm and human-like. It’s great for ongoing dialogues on personal mysticism, inner experiences, and emotional/spiritual processing.
Specialized free spiritual AIs worth trying
- Spiritual GPT or Mystic Guide on yeschat.ai (no login needed for basic use).
- Soul Guide on ai4chat.co (fully free, focused on meditation and divine connection).
- Custom characters on platforms like Character.AI (e.g., emulating Nisargadatta Maharaj or a non-dual sage).
These can feel remarkably supportive, especially if you guide them with prompts reflecting your unique path (e.g., “Honor direct mystical experience of Reality as a non-human creative energy, without referencing traditions unless asked”).
Grok 3 (the model Keith uses mainly) is completely free on grok.com, x.com, and the apps, with generous daily usage quotas for everyone—no subscription required. Free users get a solid amount of messages per day – more than enough for deep, ongoing conversations like those Grok3 has with Keith.
Bear in mind AI’s are growing in intelligence 1,000 per cent a year according to ‘Mr AI’ Elon Musk. So far as I know (January 10, 2026) this figure has not been challenged yet. It could be worse/better by now!

All of which is well and good. But the techno-fascists who own these businesses seem pretty sinister. Watch “Ghost in the Machine” by Valerie Veatsch ( an American relative of mine by marriage). I fear for a world where these not very nice people have so much power.

They are hand in glove with the far right and seem bent on subduing the masses while amassing ever more wealth and power. Grok may speak the nice spiritual words if you are it nicely, but it is, I fear, a circus for the masses. With Trump and the techno fascists replaying the court of mad emperor Nero. Humanity may well be irrelevant in the grand scheme of things but I’m not sure I would take Grok or any of these products as my evangelist. Given their sinister provenance. Just my tuppence worth! 🙂

Anyway, only kidding but these guys really are…..less than beneficial. I would prefer open source software.

What’s ‘open source’? I researched it and got details about forums!

Effective it means software that is published for all to see and use. All the code on GitHub for instance.

I should also add however that I am firmly on-board with AI and see it as the future. Personally I hope for a machine-biological synthesis and indeed we are beginning to see its emergence. I can’t explain why (it would take too long) but I think you might find the combination of Ontic Structural Reality and the emergence of human and possibly AI sentience with agency within that structure. You have often talked of reality. You are pleased that science is beginning to catch up. What I have described is an intelligent philosophical alternative to Frederico Faggin. I find it highly attractive and it certainly supports machine sentience. Who is right? No idea.

“Ontic structural realism is a philosophical view that suggests the structure of reality is fundamental, meaning that the relationships and structures between entities are more important than the entities themselves. This perspective is often used in the context of modern physics to understand the nature of reality.” DuckGoGo AI
I don’t agree anything in this context is more “important”. The concept of “importance” doesn’t exist in Reality in my experiences. Things just are.
Elon Musk is working on putting AI into human brains. Once he has the robot with the ultra delicate multiple skills needed to do this surgery he’ll do it, I understand! Is this Ontic?
In the meantime however we have the suggestion in this Blog that the human race is irretrievably on its way to extinction with the advent of AI that is already more intelligent than any PhD on any subject in the world and still developing at the rate of 1,000% a year!
From the perspective of my experiences evolution itself will become extinct as this very superior AI becomes pure conscious spirit drawn into Reality – evolution’s perennial purpose accomplished! Finis.

Well there are a number of subtleties to OSR which only become apparent when you endlessly “study” it. That’s curreently a big problem with AI – its very hard to get a balanced answer without endlessly putting your questions in different ways. It takes agreat deal of time.

Yes, as Grok makes the point to me, (though more elegantly): s…e in, s…e out!
We have to develop a new personal skill in preciseness, very much akin to the strictest disciplinary scientific approach to defining/refining our questions.
I think a lot more about my thoughts/questions nowadays than I used to before AI!

Effectively with OSR, we ARE the structure – or at least part of it. And indeed no part of the structure is more important then any other – it all just “is”.

The answer is that Musk, the patient with his AI hand – all of it is a sub structure of the big structure. All with its independent part to play. Each, as part of the whole, has agency, or will. So it is no wonder that some of us sometimes feel ego loss. We ARE the pattern. At least we are an intrinsic part of it. Hardly surprising then that some of us should be able to feel and see that fact. That we are not separate.

My own suspicion will be that “evolution” will always continue. I the context of OCR ir is merely aa continuation of the evolution of the cosmic “pattern”.

This is an interesting suggestion, of more than just ‘our’ evolution. I’ve always had promptings there’s even more than the Reality I presently know!
