This is the title of an interview on Closer To Truth on YouTube.
I didn’t watch the interview for the following reasons:
‘Enlightenment’, ‘Transcendence’ and ‘Altered States’ are only words, just laden with mere human experience, susceptible as all words are to supposition, prejudice or even bigotry. These words have no mystical meaning.
While the words express human attempts to define mystical experiences, they are empty of the actual experience.
This is because the mystic experience Itself is the only way to know MER. It cannot be described in words. It is ineffable.
Why some experience MER and others don’t has never been explained to humans or even mystics. Experience seems to be the barrier without which we cannot know what cosmic existence and our place in it is all about. There seems to be no other access. Words are not enough.

If on further reading you find the book, and the piece on qualia, of relevance to what we write about here, why not give us your separate reviews of both? I’d be interested in your findings.
As I am inumerate, (…”unfamiliar with mathematical concepts and methods, unable to use mathematics; not numerate”, Google), I doubt my comments would be helpful.
