Some people seem to worry robots could become human enough to challenge Reality’s destiny for the human race.
Confidence, optimism, curiosity and concern about AI in the workplace have all risen in the period 1918 to 2023, concern most dramatically this year, according to visualcapitalist.com.
However, it is difficult to imagine a robot able to experience the non-biological, non-materialistic experience of the Reality that creates and controls all known existence, including humans, that mystics know at first hand.
But can robots ever be spiritual? Will robots ever be able to challenge Reality’s spiritual purpose for us? Or are robots just “mind stuff” with no other purpose than to serve humanity’s wants, not Reality’s?
Reblog these posts as much as you like. No copyright is imposed. About the author: Keith is a "pratyeka" mystic according to Buddhism because his Mystical Experiences of Reality (MER) were spontaneous. (He is not a Buddhist or member of any religion). He had MERs every year from the age of 15 to 35 years of age. Pratyeka mystics don't teach, preach, evangelise, or prosletise what they know. However, when Keith recognises those who are chosen and driven to seek Ultimate Reality he does reach out to them, cautiously, to help them stop floundering and recognise themselves, know what is happening to them. Then his inclination is to remove himself unless called upon. All Is Well.

Maybe at the moment. But what about when AI is powered by quantum computers? Quanta are not noted for their predictability! I can’t help thinking that quanta are fairly mystical … I was going to say things but that’s the point, they are not things! They are energy that behaves in a very non-rational manner…

Now that pricks up one’s ears!! If you have more to say, Anonymous, please feel free to express yourself on this. Don’t let this intuition go, don’t waste it …
You also say, ” I was going to say ‘things’ but that’s the point, they are not ‘things’! They are energy that behaves in a very non-rational manner…”
To me, this sounds like a gimpse into an aspect of Reality Itself!! I get the impression you are able to develop this intuition too. I hope you will. Please give us your thoughts on this, however cautious.
