Hinduism identifies those who have experienced what was known as god throughout the ages as, “Rishes”.
Now they are also known as mystics. But mystic experiences nowadays are identified as being about a much larger existence of an absolute Reality, not any limited human construct of a mere ‘god’.
Mystic experiences that created mystics have been recognised since early human history.
Nowadays there are growing indications the Pareto Principle is right and that a significant percentage of the human race have become, or are going to become mystics!
So what are mystics for?
For some time now I have recognised silent suggestions that mystics are seeded here as a stimulent towards producing a harvest when we are sufficiently grown for Reality’s purpose.
This is not a suggestion science can address as true or false. It can’t be measured. It can only be known through experience of Reality. And Reality is the only thing that can gift the experience of Itself. The experience of Reality is caught, not taught.
So what is it in us Reality is harvesting?
Is it what has been called ‘soul’, or is it the current understanding, ‘consciousness’? And if so, why does Reality have this need anyway?
Does this seeding and harvesting mean Reality wants to know the length, breadth and depth of Its full self? Some traditions suggest this. I have a tickle of doubt that Reality doesn’t already know itself full well, unless of course, new creations are cropping up so fast Reality needs continual first hand updating?
The other side of being harvested is probably the only way we’ll ever find out what it’s all about …
