Is Richard suggesting it’s the subconscious mind that produces what I call the mystical experience of Reality (MER), that people can transform themselves into being better human beings?
The existence of an independent ‘sub conscious’ mind is an unproven human suggestion.
All we can be sure of is that the brain works on an as yet not fully understood practical complex of hydraulic, hydrodynamic, electric, synaptic and chemical levels. But little else can be assumed with any certainty. All we understand about the brain is that it services and maintains the body’s functions. So far as we know, that’s it; nothing spiritual available for human manipulation that has yet been discerned about the brain.
I certainly never got the impression I had anything I could do about my MERs. I was helpless and incredibly joyous about them; humbly so. They were completely spontaneous and inexplicable. So much so I have a strong instinct the stewardship of existence has deliberately excluded any interference by our comparatively new human race. MER is caught, not taught. Reality Rules.
As my multiple experiences of MER attested, these experiences are not meant to ‘improve’ humans but to aid the process of advancing us beyond mere human existence.
